Join our team of dedicated wine enthusiasts today! Testarossa Winery is seeking a culinary member to execute recipes and menu items designed by our Chef de Cuisine. Lead a motivated kitchen team to prepare dishes for our customers and provide not only the best wine but food pairing they can experience.



The Wine Bar Kitchen Lead is responsible for overseeing and assisting in the timely preparation and execution of recipes for as designed by the Chef de Cuisine. The Kitchen Lead is responsible for assisting in the motivation, training, and organization of the kitchen team, a variety of food preparation duties, maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, and inventory check and ordering of ingredients.

This full-time (Wednesday – Sunday) non-exempt position reports to the Sous Chef (Sous) and takes direction from the Wine Bar Manager, Chef de Cuisine (CDC) and Kitchen Office Supervisor (KOS), with key interaction with members of every department.


***New staff with a hire date between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021 are eligible for a $600 bonus. $300 paid after 60 days of active employment (minimum of 17 shifts worked for PT and 30+hrs/week for FT) and another $300 after 120 days of active employment (minimum of 34 shifts worked for PT and 30+hrs/week for FT).

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Assemble plates, ahead of time or as ordered in a timely and efficient manner, per the CDC’s standards and guidelines
  • Accurately, efficiently and expertly follow and execute recipes as set by the CDC
  • Create daily prep lists to ensure efficient food production
  • Label, stock and organize all ingredients in accordance with sanitation guidelines to ensure proper storage
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively to leads and supervisors when food menu items and/or supplies are low and need to be reordered
  • Take and report daily inventory levels to the culinary leadership team
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Professional Requirements

  • 2+ Years food service experience  
  • Current ServSafe and/or California Food Handlers Certification; ability to acquire
  • Ability to lead others in a positive and effective manner
  • Possess, or willingness to learn, safe knife skills
  • Health & sanitation knowledge preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, weekends and holidays required 
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift; 7+ hours
  • Walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull and grasp frequently for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs often
  • Work mostly performed indoors, but sometimes outdoors in various weather conditions
