Camp Paradise, Willow Creek's summer camp in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, sets the stage for dads and their kids to make memories together to last a lifetime. The rustic facilities boast an amazing camp kitchen, beautiful new chapel, river views and unbeatable, star-filled skies.
The Chef and Kitchen Manager will manage all aspects of the food experience for Camp Paradise. This includes leading a small team of summer staff for kitchen support during each Dads’ Camp session. While not at Camp Paradise summer camp, this role works at Willow Creek South Barrington, IL and splits time between preparing for the following camp season through menu planning, testing, and research, along with working in our Willow food court or cafe.
This position is Part Time, 25 hours per week.
Kitchen Responsibilities (@Camp)
Own all aspects of the menu planning and food ordering process.
Manage all aspects of the meal prep and meal service
Serve all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during weeks of Dad’s Camp
Clean up meals, put away leftovers, and supervise lodge cleanup
Train and direct hoppers/summer staff
Supervise and double-check work done by the Summer Staff
Kitchen Planning and Research (@South Barrington)
Organize and create the camp Food Order Guide
Research new GFS products and test new recipes as a way to continuously improve the camp food menu.
Establish relationships with vendors of non-food Items (food service bowls, etc.)
Help food court and cafe team (@South Barrington)
Participate in food prep and cooking
