We're a small, tight-knit team dedicated to serving exceptional food inspired by traditional Japanese kissaten. We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Line Cook and Dishwasher to join our kitchen staff.
Job Description - Line Cook
As a Line Cook, you'll be an essential part of our team, responsible for preparing and plating a variety of dishes to our high standards, as well assisting with running and bussing food. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where precision and teamwork are key. We are a small operation, so you'll have the opportunity to work closely with our chefs and learn the ins and outs of our unique and dynamic menu.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all food items in accordance recipes and quality standards.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
- Cook menu items with efficiency and speed, ensuring timely delivery to our guests.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, including the kitchen line, prep areas, and storage.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with all kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed, including prep work and cleaning.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role is required.
- Basic understanding of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and positive attitude.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality food.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- A team player with a willingness to learn and grow with us.
Job Description - Dishwasher
As a Dishwasher, you are the backbone of our kitchen operations. Your work ensures that our cooks have the tools they need to create great food and that our front-of-house staff can provide a clean and welcoming experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Operate the dishwashing machine efficiently and safely, and making sure cleaning chemicals are restocked.
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain a clean and tidy dish pit area.
- Assist with basic kitchen cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash and recycling.
- Help with some light food prep as needed.
- Work collaboratively with all staff to ensure a smooth service.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is a plus, but not required.
- Must be a reliable and punctual team player.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices is a plus.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
