Sparrow in Bend is hiring a Part-Time to Full-Time* Savory Cook to add to our bright and busy cafe in NW Crossing! (*FT = 4 days/week, yay!) We area a busy, medium-sized, regional, wholesale and retail bakery specializing in hand-laminated croissants and crave-worthy cafe foods.
Looking for an enthusiastic, energetic employee who is excited to work with us in a healthy, supportive kitchen culture! If you have some cheffing experience, GREAT! But we are also excited to train the right person - Experience working in fast environments and natural talent for teamwork and multi-tasking is a MUST!
This FT position starts at $17-$19 per hour DOE + plus $5-6 in hourly tips
50/50 Health Insurance plan at 60 days of FT employment
PTO, Sick Pay and 401K at 1 year of FT employment
FT at Sparrow is 4 days/week with 3 days off the clock to rest, relax, and pursue your other interests
Candidates must ideally be able to work at least 1 weekend day
Our Savory position is fast-paced, never a dull moment! You will prepare hot, bakery-fresh breakfast and brunch sandwiches to order, as well as assist in preparing the section for service with prep work such as poaching eggs, making aioli, chicken salad, and other from-scratch spreads, sauces, soups, and salads that flesh out our cafe menu. You will be expected to occasionally help customers at the register or at their table so a knack for genuine customer care and a positive vibe is a great asset!
