Narkara is a new upscale casual Thai restaurant set to open in the late summer, in Union Square, New York City. Our restaurant draws inspiration from the Mekhong Delta region, with a focus on the distinct flavors of Northern and Northeastern Thailand. With a seating capacity of 140 seats, Narkara aims to immerse guests in the vibrant culture and culinary traditions of this unique part of Thailand.

We are currently looking for passionate hospitality professionals to join our grand opening!

Looking for Full or Part Time BOH Staff

Qualifications:

- Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English
- Must have basic math skills
- Maintain friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times
- Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
- Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by management

Duties & Responsibilities (Line Cook / Prep Cook)

-Prepare proteins, vegetables, and other ingredients for cooking using various methods including wok, grill, fryers, and more.
-Take full responsibility for the quality and consistency of food being served.
-Follow recipe specs and portion standards to ensure consistency across all dishes.
-Keep your station fully stocked and prepped for smooth service.
-Assist with prep work ahead of time to minimize delays during busy hours.
-Keep your station and kitchen areas clean, organized, and up to health code standards.
-Plate dishes with attention to detail in both portion and presentation.
-Properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients to maintain freshness.
-Help with general cleaning, side work, and restocking during slower periods.
-Work with the chef or kitchen manager to close the kitchen properly at the end of each shift.
-Be ready to jump in and help wherever needed in the kitchenteamwork is key.

Duties & Responsibilities (Dishwasher)

- Complete opening side work checklist for shift daily
- Maintain cleanliness of all storage areas: dry storage, walk-in cooler, freezers, paper good storage, chemical storage, beverage storage, and any other storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness of back of house areas by emptying trash, sweeping and mopping floors, etc. throughout service
- Dispose of all trash, cardboard, etc. as needed throughout shift, Empty trash cans from all kitchen and service areas throughout the shift
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of smallware, plateware and cookware.
- Minimize breakage by handling plateware and other items with care
- Complete basic prep responsibilities, as directed by Chef
- Complete closing side work checklist for shift daily
- Use of proper chemicals to clean and knowledge of the uses of such chemicals
- Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials
- Maintenance of the dish washing machine, including pH testing
- Follow and adhere to all standards set forth by the Board of Health; Keep work area clean and organized
- Inform Chef or Sous Chef immediately of any DOH safety violations
- Performs other related activities as assigned
