We are currently seeking an outstanding Executive Chef to join our team. To oversee and direct all food production, food presentation, and all back-of-the-house activity. Expected to meet or exceed community food service standards at all times, adhering to budgetary requirements and managing kitchen operations in a cost effective manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervise employees in the Kitchen.

  2. Plan, staff, organize and coordinate the preparation of all meals in all levels of care.

  3. Plan menus and menu cycles according to cultural and regional food preferences, and resident dietary guidelines. Adjusts recipes to appropriate yield.

  4. Monitor the quality and consistency of the food to include food temperatures, portion control, palatability and attractiveness of food, and implements changes to ensure quality according to established standards.

  5. Ensure compliance with Resident dietary restrictions.

  6. Walk dining room each night to ensure resident satisfaction and feedback.

  7. Observe workers engaged in preparing, portioning, and garnishing foods to ensure that methods of cooking and garnishing and sizes of portions are as prescribed.

  8. Give instructions to cooking staff in fine points of cooking.

  9. Cook and carve meats, and prepare dishes.

  10. Receive and validate all food deliveries against order form.

  11. Inventory food items monthly.

  12. Conduct regular Quality Assurance Audits.

  13. Practice safe and sanitary food handling.

  14. Practice all safety and loss prevention procedures.

  15. Ensure cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment and areas.

  16. Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

  1. Observe all community policies and procedures.

  2. Accept assigned duties, instructions or correction in a cooperative manner, voicing concerns or disagreement in a professional manner through established chain of authority according to state procedures.

  3. Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as may arise during the course of regular duties, in order to maintain a clean, safe, pleasant environment for residents, visitors and staff.

  4. Perform all other related duties as assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.

  5. Individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

  6. Responsible for hands-on, direct cooking, serving and dish washing as necessary.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree (in culinary arts program preferred)
  • Successful completion of recognized food safety course
  • Minimum of five years' experience as executive chef, chef in a hotel, restaurant, club, or other similar employment
  • Minimum of three years' experience in administration and management of food service systems
  • Senior living community experience preferred
