This is a wonderful opportunity to use your skills creating 5 star meals at our upscale guest ranch. Looking for a full time chef to work and create a custom menu for guests three meals a day, as well as staff. We focus on gourmet meals that are hearty, healthy and creative. Small intimate setting with an average of 16 guests per day plus a staff of 8. We are excited to help you design a menu that suits you as well as our clients. Job includes housing at the ranch as well as employee housing in the town Jackson so that you can enjoy your time off. The schedule is 5 days/4 nights with 3 nights/2 days off to be able to discover all that the Tetons and surrounding area have of offer. The ranch is open from June 1 st until October 2nd. You would need to be able to work the entire season, and arrive to the ranch by May 15th. The perfect applicant has experience with menu planning, purchasing, sourcing, and accommodating special diets. A positive attitude and team player are an absolute must. The kitchen is the heart of the Ranch and guests as well as staff are welcome in this space. Experiences with everything from making breakfast to dessert is needed. A typical week includes purchasing supplies in town, driving an hour and a half to the ranch. Once at the ranch you trade shifts with the other chef and are in charge of breakfast, lunch, and dinner for guests and staff for 3.5 days. On overlap days with the other chef you help each other prep, stock and prepare staples such as cookies, home made granola, yogurt, dressings and sauces, and desserts. Greens from the kitchen garden are available and we encourage you to use them. If you enjoy tending the garden, even better. We try and source as much local goods as possible and have great rapport with many local vendors. The ranch has two 4 burner Wolf ranges, a outdoor Grill, a pit barrel smoker, and most equipment you would find in a professional kitchen. Keeping a clean presentable kitchen and maintaining kitchen equipment is also very important. Applicant needs to be able to cook from scratch, and have great time management skills. Ideally want some one who wants to return year after year. Job starts on May 15th and ends Oct. 10th. Wages are paid bi-monthly and minimum gross wages for season is $20,000 plus included room and board.
