Great Performances seeks a full-time Prep Cook for our catering production kitchen. We are looking for an individual with a high energy level and a desire to learn and enhance their culinary skills. You must have the ability to work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute menu items according to the chefs standards of preparation, seasoning, presentation, and portioning
- Excel in a fast-paced environment with high-quality standards
- Maintain food safety standards according to NYC Department of Health guidelines
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workstation
- Maintain a positive, team-spirited approach with a willingness to support fellow cooks as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of culinary or restaurant experience
- Excellent knife skills
- Professional culinary references required
- Experienced in dishwashing and sanitation
- Must own a complete knife and tool kit
- Must have regular computer access
- Impeccable standards of personal hygiene
- New York City Food Handler's Certificate is a plus
- Strong work ethic, well organized, focused, attentive to details
- Dependable and punctual
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and stand for at least 8 hours
Location: Bronx, New York
Schedule: Seasonal role with the requirement to work any shift on any day as needed
Hourly rate: $18.00 - $22.00/hour
Job Type: Full-time
