Responsibilities:
- Position Summary:
The Sous Chef will assist the Chef in all kitchen operations and ensure the smooth running of the kitchen. This role includes supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and maintaining kitchen standards.
The Sous Chef will step in for the Chef as needed and help in creating and refining menu items.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef in daily operations and food preparation.
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure proper execution of tasks.
- Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies.
- Train and develop kitchen staff to enhance their skills.
- Help in menu planning and recipe development.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. le
- Plus other work-related tasks as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
- Ability to work weekends
Pay and Benefits:
$20.00 to $20.00 hour , depending on education and experience.
