Line Cook / Prep Cook

The Hamden Inn is seeking a line cook to work alongside an executive chef to prepare food from fresh ingredients using original recipes. Occasional prep work may be involved with sauces, vegetables, stocks, meats, and more. We're looking for friendly, positive candidates who will be proactive in addressing the needs of the restaurant: for instance, keeping tabs on inventory of frequently-used items to make sure they are well stocked.
Line cooks may be responsible for either a fry or saute station and should have experience working in a busy commercial kitchen. All members of the kitchen staff are responsible for putting away food deliveries, cleaning of the kitchen, and making sure that the line is fully stocked to handle large volumes of customer traffic.
Requirements:
available to work consistent shifts on evenings, weekends + holidays
ability to walk and stand during entire shift
frequent hand washing + maintenance of personal hygiene
ability to lift 35 pounds
comfortability handling sharp knives and slicers
age 18+
Prior experience is required.
