Cook - Lead Assistant, Franciscan Sisters, Little Falls, Minnesota. The full-time position involves working 40 hours per week 5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., includes every other weekend and holiday at the Motherhouse of the Franciscan Sisters in our private, small, homey, wholistic, person-centered assisted living care center.
The position is responsible for preparing meals, assisting the department manager as needed in ordering, event planning, inventory, and scheduling.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our culinary team and ensure the highest standards of food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry. Prefer previous experience in large quantity cooking and food prep.
Responsibilities
Assist in coordinating daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
Collaborating with team members to create innovative and appealing dishes.
Assist in managing inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring availability for meal preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment, adhering to health regulations.
Requirements
Strong dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is highly desirable.
Proficient in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations.
Familiarity with food handling practices, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards is essential.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred to ensure a comprehensive understanding of kitchen dynamics.
Requires passing a pre-employment screening including lifting 35 pounds and Minnesota DHS required background study. Current ServSafe certification or obtain in agreed upon time.
Benefits begin the first of the month following start date. Benefits include dental, health, and vision insurance; 403(b); vacation, sick and holiday pay; free membership to St. Francis Health and Wellness.
Starting Wage: $19-$21 per hour (depending on experience)
