NEW RATES for 2025 : Cook PRN rate is 19.00 per hour. Full or part time positions start at 15.86 and rate is based on your food services industry experience.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cook is an integral member of the Food and Nutrition Services Team. The Cook is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to provide high - quality, nutritionally balanced meals for hospital patients, families, visitors, and employees across the facility .

What you will do in this role:

You will p repare food items for patients, cafeteria, and catering functions using standardized recipes and high-quality production skills

You will a ssemble plates for patients and cafeteria patrons

You will w ork on patient tray assembly line and you will follow menu directives for determining food items for each tray

You will have a basic knowledge of therapeutic diets

You will c lean and sanitize kitchen work area, all equipment and table s and you will collect and dispose of garbage

You will maintain HACCP record logs, temperature logs and assist with food stocking

What q ualifications you may need:

A h igh s chool d iploma or equivalent is preferred

6 months of food service experience is required

1 year of cooking experience preferred , ideally in a hospital, healthcare, or institution setting
