Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating dishes according to our recipes and standards. This role requires strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook menu items with precision, following Macellos recipes and presentation standards.
Work with authentic Italian and Pugliese ingredients, such as handmade pasta, seafood, seasonal vegetables, and traditional sauces.
Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients and supplies prior to service.
Ensure all food is cooked to proper temperatures and plated with attention to quality and presentation.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to execute dishes consistently and efficiently during busy service periods.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation throughout shifts.
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures in compliance with health regulations.
Assist with prep work, inventory management, and receiving/organizing deliveries.
Uphold Macellos commitment to providing an authentic Italian dining experience.
2+ years of experience as a line cook or similar role in a full-service restaurant (Italian cuisine experience strongly preferred).
Solid understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
Passion for Italian cuisine, with knowledge of Pugliese traditions considered a strong plus.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Culinary degree or professional training preferred, but not required.
Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Comfortable working in a hot and busy kitchen environment.
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00)
