Sous Chef/Line Cook

Pino's Contemporary Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar is looking for a strong sous chef/line cook. We have 30+ years in business. We are an OpenTable Diners' Choice restaurant with a long, successful history of food and wine.

Experience is preferred in "scratch cooking"
The candidate should have a proven, strong background in ala minute cooking to include pasta, saute and grill
You can follow and execute recipes and procedures.
The candidate should be able to coordinate and expedite with other stations for the proper timing of plates to guests.
Shares culinary knowledge and experience with fellow team members.
The successful candidate has the emotional discipline to work under high-volume periods
You must understand FIFO, safe food handling procedures, and be responsible for cleaning/maintaining your station.
It's a PLUS if you have your own knives

Full-time is 40 hours per week for hourly.

Opportunity for UPMC medical/vision insurance after 90 days.

The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday evenings with two days off
Availability for private events and catering.
The restaurant is closed on all Major Holidays, including Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Day, 4th of July, and Thanksgiving Day.
The restaurant also closes each year for a two-week vacation.
