Job Details Job Title: Assistant Pastry Chef Reports to: Executive Chef, Pastry Chef Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and creative Assistant Pastry Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production of baked goods to be sold in the market and in catering, brunch and dinner dessert items, takeaways, bread program, and all adjacent aspects of these departments. You will report directly to the Executive Chef, GM, and ownership. Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation and production of high-quality baked goods, including cakes, pastries, bread, and other items to be sold in the market and in catering. Create unique and innovative brunch and dinner dessert items that will delight our customers. Develop and implement a takeaway program for customers to enjoy your creations at home. Manage the bread program, including the production of artisan bread, rolls, and other baked goods. Ensure all baked goods meet our high standards for taste, texture, and presentation. Manage the pastry kitchen team, including hiring, training, and scheduling. Maintain proper inventory levels for all ingredients and supplies, and order as needed. Create and maintain recipes, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Work closely with the Executive Chef, Pastry Chef, and ownership to develop and execute new menu items and concepts.- Contribute in bi weekly tastings with Chef/Management team to discuss successes, areas for improvement, and upcoming seasonal menu changes.
- Take responsibility, after training, for all orders dedicated to the pastry program.
- Contribute to a twice a day family meal in a way that is thoughtful, concise, and intentional.
- Requirements: 2+ years of experience as a Pastry cook, preferably in a fine dining restaurant or high-end bakery. Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred. Strong leadership and management skills. Creative and innovative with a passion for pastry and baking. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Compensation: Hourly ($22.00 - $24.00) plus tips
