Our client, a dynamic food service provider, is seeking a Cook to join their team. As a Cook, you will be part of the culinary team supporting various dining operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Cook

Location: Marquette, MI

Pay Range: $17.34 - $17.71 per Hour

Shift: Variable shifts/days/locations, including afternoon and weekend shifts; typical shift start times are between the hours of 6:00 am and 1:00 pm, based on scheduled events

What's the Job?

  • Engage in the service to customers in dining hall food service, cash operations, banquets, and catering.
  • Check menu, portion size, prices, table arrangements, and schedule for changes and adjust workload accordingly.
  • Prepare food and beverage items, such as coffee, tea, soup, sandwiches, grill orders, and other various short-order items.
  • Perform a variety of duties, including wash, clean, prepare, mix, fry, slice, dish, set-up, serve, stock, store, load, unload, order, maintain, inventory, skirt, arrange, assign.
  • Work with a variety of equipment, including cash registers, floor machines, hand and power tools, mixers, choppers, peelers, griddles, grills, fryers, steamers, ovens, hand utensils, mobile equipment, etc.

What's Needed?

  • Full-time, temporary to permanent position.
  • 18 months experience on the line for Production Cook or 3 years experience on the line for Line Cook.
  • Experience in kitchen production in a quantity food service setting (e.g., Fast Casual, Quick Service Restaurant experience).
  • Food Service Sanitation Certification (ServSafe) or the ability to obtain within six months from the start of employment.
  • High School Graduation or Equivalent is required.
