We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team at 1889, a locally owned, high-end steakhouse in the heart of Missoula. This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and driven chef to showcase their skills in a restaurant known for premium cuts, exceptional service, and an elevated dining experience.
Responsibilities:
Assist the chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, including menu development, ordering, inventory, food cost control
Lead, train, and inspire a skilled culinary team
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
Collaborate with ownership to innovate seasonal and specialty menus
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized kitchen in compliance with all health regulations
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role within a fine dining environment
Proven expertise with steakhouse cuisine, butchery, and classic cooking techniques
Knowledge of food cost control and proper food inventory management and control of labor costs.
Strong leadership and communication skills
Commitment to excellence, creativity, and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and quality
