Role Overview: The Prep Cook is a valued Dining Services member responsible for assisting the Catering/ Banquet Production. Their primary duty is to assist in creating high-quality, nutritious meals that are properly seasoned and prepared to meet the expected standards.

Core Responsibilities:

• Culinary Support: Under the direction of the Food Service Director, prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a way that preserves food freshness, quality, and appeal.
• Kitchen Support: Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating.
• Maintain Cleanliness : Maintain production records and logs (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, etc.). Maintain a clean and sanitized work. Ensures that all sanitation guidelines, health codes set by local and state Health Departments, as well as OSHA, are being followed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of Professional Culinary Experience

Work Schedule:

• Hours : [16-24 Weekly Hours] 1 st Shift Periods (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
• Anticipated Annual Operating Schedule : 30-42 Weeks. College semesters; August – December; January – May)
• Pay Range : $15.50-16.50
• Work Address : 4000 Whiting Drive, Midland, MI 48640
