Colette Bread & Bakeshop is a young, busy, colorful, rustic neighborhood bakery in the heart of walkable Poncey Highlands. We bake our products for a growing list of daily wholesale clients as well as for our retail shop, open 6 days a week. We specialize in naturally fermented breads and traditional pastry that evolve with the seasons. We have a loyal clientele who sometimes come everyday to get their bread and pastry and we love drawing on that neighborhood vibe.

We are looking for passionate folks who love crushing in the early mornings. Folks who get up ready to go and love filling an oven.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a lead morning baker to help bakeoff lots of beautiful product in the early mornings and eventually lead the bakeoff preparing our wholesale orders and retail pastry case.

Ideal candidates have 1 year experience in a bakery or restaurant environment. Candidates must be available 4am-11am 5 days a week preferably a set schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday) though this can be negotiated. Candidates must be self motivated in the morning, eager to bake off a good amount of product and enjoy a hustle, and candidates must be excited to work with a team. Ideal candidates are good communicators and eager to problem solve.

We are looking for folks with previous bakery/restaurant/pastry experience, with an eye for detail and a desire to grow the team professionally and positively.

The daily responsibilities of our Lead Morning Baker include but are not limited to: leading the team in it's daily bakes, completing daily pars for wholesale and retail, managing quality, effectively communicating with other morning bakers and prep bakers, and light daily prep work.

In general, this role is responsible for making sure our wholesale orders get out on time, our retail shelves our stocked with high quality pastry, and our ovens stay filled and baking.

Helpful Traits of the position include: early riser and timely, efficient and into a morning hustle, positive, communicative, self motivated, an eye for excellence, comprehension of general basic baking skills, motivated to learn and grow, strong leadership skills and ability to delegate and teach others effectively. Also must be clean, organized, and have a strong desire to think ahead and anticipate.

COMPENSATION

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $18.00 - $22.00
