Position includes weekend and holiday rotation
The Cook is responsible for preparing food in a clean environment, following recipes and instructions while adhering to proper food safety guidelines. They assist leadership in delivering timely meals to residents, guests, and team members. Additionally, they help control food costs by using ingredients according to established guidelines. This position will be performed in accordance with TANDEM LIVING Core Values, Mission Statement, and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Formal culinary education or prior experience in an institutional food service setting preferred.
Experience preparing large quantities of food.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Opens and/or closes the kitchen, including all equipment.
Prepares and cooks assigned foods accordingly to daily production sheets.
Ensures food is cooked to the proper temperature, avoiding overcooking or undercooking.
Adheres to safe food handling practices at all times.
Maintains accurate temperature logs and sanitizing records.
