Hiring Company: Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc. Overview: Create outstanding customer experiences for Boars Head employees (customers) through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe, clean and fresh environment within the Boars Head Cafe. Assist the Cafe Manager in reaching goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions and making suggestions.
  • Prepare foods according to the food temperature logs and follow instructions.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers requests.
  • Promote trust among Cafe Associates and customers.
  • Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
  • Use all equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and slicers according to Boars Head Brand guidelines.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness, review sell by date,s and take appropriate action.
  • Maintains a clean working environment, following all sanitation guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained, and temperature logs are maintained.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate management of any items in need of repair.
  • Label, stock and inventory merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to management.
  • Display a positive attitude and sense of urgency.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of related deli or cafe experience, 1+ years of slicing experience
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Product knowledge, including species, flavor profile, product handling, slicing technique, and scale operation
  • Excellent customer service, organizational,and multi-tasking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities
  • Ability to handle stressful situations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of working in a commercial kitchen
