Job Duties:

Dining operates a comprehensive collegiate food service program delivering high quality, contemporary and innovative culinary services to meet the various needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The department supports a residential dining program, as well as a retail marketplace, convenience store, coffee shops and a full-time catering department.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Assists with recipe and menu development and testing
  • Assists and guides student workers
  • Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Prepares a variety of baked goods including yeast products

Compensation:

$15-$17 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of bakery production experience to include pan breads, hearth breads, sweet breads, cake decorating, cookies, bars, and donuts.
  • Knowledge of the efficient and safe use of food service equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret recipe information.
  • Knowledge of standard weights and measures.
  • ServSafe certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of bakery operations

Terms of Employment:

This is a temporary University Staff position, non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is required to serve a six-month probation period.
