The Prep Cook (AM/PM) is responsible for ensuring the kitchen is ready for service by preparing ingredients, following recipes, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Key Responsibilities:Ingredient Preparation:
- Wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
- Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions.
Recipe Execution:
- Follow standardized recipes and plating guides.
- Assist with making sauces, dressings, marinades, and other prep tasks as directed.
Kitchen Support:
- Restock prep stations during service as needed.
- Ensure proper storage of food items in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Cleanliness and Organization:
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation.
- Perform routine cleaning of kitchen equipment and storage areas.
Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and leadership to ensure smooth operations.
- Support line cooks and chefs during service as required.
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
