We are seeking a talented, hard working cook to join our kitchen crew year round (this is not a seasonal position). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, knowledge of kitchen and food safety practices and an interest in menu development. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring that every dish meets our standards. This opening is for someone who has kitchen experience and is looking to grow into a shift manager/kitchen manager role.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
Assist in developing new menu items, tasting menus and food and beverage pairings.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with regulations and standards.
Assist in meal preparation for special events and catering services.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Skills
Proficient in food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Strong knowledge of practices to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
Experience working in a fine dining restaurant or similar culinary setting is preferred.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new techniques.
