Job DetailsOTOTO, a James Beard Winning Sake Bar, seeks a full-time line cook.
As part of a small team, our cooks work closely with our chefs, and are involved in multiple aspects of the menu, from ordering to prep to execution. Our menu is inspired by classic Japanese izakaya dishes, with a focus on farmers market produce, seafood from both California and Japan, and sustainably-raised proteins.
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a cook in a full-service restaurant, with an interest in Japanese cuisine.
Role Qualifications
- 2 year of culinary / food and beverage line position in a full-service restaurant, preferred
- Good knife skills, plating techniques, and attention to detail
- Ability to learn and follow recipes to execute dishes and oversee daily prep efficiently
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and take constructive feedback
- Ability to uphold professionalism, responsibility, and accountability at all times
- Able to maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work station
- Lift and carry 30+ pounds
- Ability to work long hours on your feet as shifts can last up to 10 hours
- Availability to work on weekends
