Job Position Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing high-quality meals in a Japanese Food Restaurant environment. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing delicious dishes, ensuring food safety standards are met, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.
Duties:
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and seasoning ingredients.
Prepare and assemble various sushi rolls.
Proficient knife skills and proper knowledge of handling and preparing raw fish.
Plate sushi rolls and sashimi.
Determine size of food portion.
Cook menu items either by simmering, grilling, steaming, frying or raw.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Participate in menu planning and development by suggesting new dishes or improvements.
Adhere to food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure quality.

Experience:
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
Familiarity with Japanese food preparation techniques and various cooking methods.
Previous experience with Japanese cuisine is an asset.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibilities.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation.
A passion for cooking and the ability to adapt to changing menus or dietary restrictions.
