Summary of Position:
This Line Cook position will work a variety of stations on the hot line from saute, grill and pasta station. They must meet presentation and timing standards, assist others in the kitchen, and maintain a clean, well-stocked and organized work area.
Line cook qualifications:
Good communication and organizational skills
Previous experience working a pantry station preferred
Able to accurately read and communicate orders
Shows a sense of urgency; able to track multiple orders and multitask
Positive attitude is a must
Works well under pressure
Team player, works productively with others
Understanding of food safe practices
Line cook key responsibilities:
Presents themselves professionally, e.g. clean uniform, well groomed
Maintains up to date knowledge of recipes, procedures and plating for all menu and special items for which they are responsible according to the Executive Chefs standards.
Follow instructions from Executive Chef or Sous Chef
Meets timing standards
Coordinates orders with other stations, assists coworkers as needed
Maintain positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
Ensures their areas of responsibility are well stocked and guest ready
Maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety and food safety throughout the shift
As required: making accurate prep lists, cleaning, opening and closing tasks; and any other duties designated by the Executive Chef.
Line cook physical demands:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, throughout the shift.
Must be able to push and pull equipment of various sizes and weights (e.g. 25lbs pot of hot water), throughout the shift.
Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
Requires grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, hearing ability and visual acuity.
