Scratchboard Kitchen in downtown Arlington Heights is hiring experienced AM Line Cooks to join our chef-driven team. We are looking for cooks with strong fundamentals, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to lead a station with confidence.
Ideal candidates are organized, efficient, and proactive. You should be comfortable with prep systems, understand par levels, and be able to support smooth service through expediting when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Execute dishes with precision and urgency
Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked station
Manage prep with accuracy and foresight
Assist with expediting and ensure service runs efficiently
Uphold all food safety and cleanliness standards
Communicate clearly and support a professional kitchen culture
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience
Familiarity with prep sheets, inventory systems, and station management
Proven ability to lead during service and expedite when needed
Strong time management and attention to detail
Professionalism, reliability, and a team-first mindset
Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
