Primary Purpose:
To operate a department, which meets or exceeds standards set forth by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and to perform with skill multiple tasks necessary to operate a department in which nutritious, attractive, and satisfying meals are prepared and served under high standards of sanitation and safety to all students.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED (English)
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Applicant must work well under pressure
Experience:
In large quantity food preparation preferred
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable

Technical Skills, Responsibilities and Duties
In PSJA ISD, we hire individuals who demonstrate excellence in these technical areas as they lead others
Major Responsibilities and Duties:- Review menus to determine type and quantities of pastries, and baked goods to be prepared.
- Prepares baking of food items for each meal.
- Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers to make pastries and baked goods.
- Bakes and prepares pastries and baked goods.
- Observes and tastes food being baked and adds ingredients or seasoning to improve flavor or texture as needed.

None.

Large and small kitchen equipment and tools including electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer, deep-fat fryer, sharp cutting tools, oven, dishwasher, and food and utility cart.
