Job Details Purslane is seeking a dependable and experienced Head Cook to join our back-of-house team at Duck Island. Youll be responsible for preparing and executing a seasonal, approachable menu with precision and consistency. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented role ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a clean, efficient kitchen.Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate proficiency in navigating and managing purchasing, inventory, and cost control.
- Lead by example on the line during service, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, inventory, and Department of Health preparedness.
- Develop and mentor the BOH team, fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism.
- Help keep food waste down to a minimum.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a lead line cook or similar role, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and guest service.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Compensation: Hourly ($25.00 - $27.00)
