The history of Wild Wing Cafe is very important to us. Although it reads more like a fairytale than a business plan, the truth is that Cecil & Dianne Crowley moved to Hilton Head Island, SC in the late 1980’s
with the idea of creating an easygoing, fun place where people could go to enjoy their unique chicken wings and drink ice cold beer. This would be the kind of place where folks could catch a ball game or sit out in the sun on the patio with a big burger or chicken sandwich. In June of 1990, in a little space by a Duck Pond in Coligny Plaza, Wild Wing Cafe opened to great public acceptance. Although the Crowleys’ longtime expertise in advertising and marketing kept people flocking in, they had little experience in the restaurant business, so much of the concept of Wild Wing was approached not from the viewpoint of a
restaurateur, but from that of a guest. To this day, we measure the way we run our business on this onestandard…How we affect the guest experience.
The second Wild Wing Cafe opened on the Market in Charleston, South Carolina, in February of 1992. The idea that good food at reasonable prices, along with friendly attentive service would be popular with the public proved to be true. Now, over two decades later, there are Wild Wing Cafes throughout eight states, including North and South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Texas, New Jersey, Florida, and Tennessee. And we're still growing!
