Overview
The Pizza Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas using consistent techniques and recipes. This role includes dough handling, topping preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean, efficient pizza station. The Pizza Cook works closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely, accurate, and visually appealing orders while upholding the standards and core values of the East Bay Restaurant Group (EBRG).
Key Responsibilities
Prepare pizzas according to recipes and presentation standards (hand-stretching, rolling, or pressing dough as required).
Cook pizzas in rotating brick oven, ensuring proper temperature, rotation, and doneness.
Portion and apply sauces, cheeses, and toppings consistently.
Prepare dough, sauces, and toppings as needed, including mixing, portioning, and storing.
Monitor oven temperatures to maintain ideal cooking conditions.
Set up and stock the pizza station with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized station and ensure proper product rotation and labeling.
Maintain cleanliness of work area, tools, and equipment.
Assist with prep tasks such as chopping, cooking, portioning, marinating, labeling, and storing ingredients.
Follow all opening, closing, and shift-change procedures for the pizza station.
Work as a team to ensure smooth ticket flow in a fast-paced environment.
Communicate clearly with team members and management, especially during high-volume service.
Notify supervisors of low inventory, equipment issues, or product concerns.
Adhere to health department regulations and company standards.
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a respectful kitchen culture.
Qualifications
Previous pizza cook or kitchen experience preferred, but not always required.
Strong knife skills and understanding of cooking techniques.
Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and safety procedures.
Excellent time management and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Compensation
$18-$22/hr
