At Hilo's Ha Cafe, we're more than a cafewe're part of a movement to improve the health of Hawaii while supporting local farmers, sustainable agriculture, and traditional Hawaiian foods and tonics. Our menu features fresh cold-pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls, protein-rich meals, vegan and plant-forward dishes, house-made soups, salads, and specialty items like our signature poi focaccia bread.

We're looking for a passionate and energetic Line Cook who believes food can be a powerful tool for healing, community, and positive change. What You'll Do
Prepare and cook high-quality menu items according to recipes and cafe standards
Work with fresh produce, local ingredients, cold-pressed juice ingredients, proteins, and plant-based foods
Assist with preparation of soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, baked goods, and specialty menu items
Help prepare and bake our signature poi focaccia bread and other seasonal offerings
Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures are followed at all times
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
Assist with catering orders, special events, and community gatherings
Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to create an exceptional guest experience
Contribute ideas for new menu items featuring local, seasonal ingredients

What We're Looking For
Previous kitchen, restaurant, catering, or food service experience preferred
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Experience with food preparation, knife skills, and kitchen organization
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Interest in healthy food, nutrition, sustainability, or local agriculture is highly valued
Experience with vegan, vegetarian, gluten-conscious, or health-focused cuisine is a plus
Baking experience is a plus but not required
