We are a small Japanese restaurant with Latin fusion and focused on fresh ingredients, precision, and exceptional guest experiences. We are looking for Sushi Chefs with a range of experience; supporting or becoming a Head Sushi Chef in leading kitchen. We all work together and maintain a positive environment to maintain high culinary standards. The Sous Chef will receive mentorship with growth opportunity while the Head Chef will have a say in refining and adding to the menu.
Hours of operation: Mon-Fri 11am-3pm. Thurs-Sat 5pm-9pm. 15-25 hours a week.
Compensation: $25-30/hour +tips (1099 Contractor) Pay dependent on experience.
Responsibilities:
Prepare sushi and dishes with consistency and attention to detail
Work as a team to complete daily kitchen operations and special events
Assist Front of House responsibilities when needed ( Making matcha's, aqua frescas, cleaning, welcoming customers.)
Ensure proper fish handling, storage, sanitation, and food safety standards
Maintain inventory alongside Restaurant Lead and assist with ordering fish
Monitor product quality and presentation standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstations
Qualifications:
Minimum 6 months experience rolling sushi
Strong knife skills and knowledge of Japanese cuisine techniques
Understanding of seafood storage and food safety
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
Social media knowledge is a plus but not required
