About the Role
We are a well-established daytime bakery cafe in Chestnut Hill known for house-baked pastries, artisan breads, and a thoughtful breakfast and lunch menu. We are looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our small kitchen team, maintain quality, and keep daily operations running smoothly. This is a working manager role you will be in the kitchen every day alongside your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all kitchen operations for breakfast and lunch service
- Work hands-on in a working manager capacity prep, line, and expo
- Hire, train, schedule, and develop a small kitchen team
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Manage ordering, vendor relationships, and inventory
- Monitor food and labor costs; minimize waste
- Ensure full compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with ownership on seasonal menu updates and specials
Qualifications
- 35 years of kitchen management experience required
- Bakery, cafe, or breakfast/lunch concept experience strongly preferred
- Strong scratch cooking skills and commitment to quality
- Solid understanding of food cost controls and inventory management
- ServSafe certified or able to obtain upon hire
- Team-first attitude with strong communication and organizational skills
- No late nights , great tight community in this team and brand
