El Chile Kitchen ManagerJob Type:Full-Time (45-50 hours/week)Schedule:Mixed AM/PM shifts (including weekends and holidays)Position OverviewA dedicated and motivated Kitchen Manager / Lead Chef to support and lead daily kitchen operations. This is a hybrid role that combines both culinary leadership and operational management, requiring a hands-on approach in all aspects of the kitchen.This position will evolve over time as the team grows stronger, with increasing responsibility in both creative and administrative functions. Training will be provided through collaboration with both Back-of-House (BOH) and Front-of-House (FOH) leadership teams.Role Summary: This role blends two critical functions:Chef (Culinary Leadership):Oversee the creative and culinary direction of the kitchenContribute to menu development, recipe execution, and food presentationEnsure quality, consistency, and standards in every dishLead the team in executing food that reflects the restaurant s identityKitchen Manager (Operational Leadership):Manage day-to-day kitchen operations for efficiency and consistencySupervise staff, scheduling, inventory, and orderingMaintain cost control, organization, and compliance with health standardsEnsure the kitchen runs smoothly, cleanly, and profitablyQualificationsPrevious experience as kitchen supervisor (management experience preferred)Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standardsLeadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a teamHighly organized with strong attention to detailAbility to work flexible hours, including nights and weekendsStrong communication, bilingual/Spanish speaking a plus, and teamwork skillsKey ResponsibilitiesKitchen Operations & Culinary ExecutionOversee and actively participate in daily food preparation and serviceEnsure consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishesMonitor line setup, execution, and plate presentation during serviceOrganize and maintain walk-ins, prep areas, and kitchen stationsInventory & OrderingManage inventory of food, supplies, and prepared itemsPlace and track orders with food and supply vendorsReceive and check in deliveries to ensure quality and accuracyTeam LeadershipSupervise and support all kitchen personnel across AM and PM shiftsTrain, mentor, and develop kitchen staffTake ownership of team performance and accountabilitySanitation & OrganizationOversee cleanliness and organization of the kitchenEnsure proper cleaning of BOH areas and applicable FOH spacesMaintain health, safety, and sanitation standards at all timesAdministrative & Operational GrowthAssist with scheduling, labor management, and performance trackingTake on increasing administrative responsibilities as the role evolvesSupport systems that improve efficiency, consistency, and profitabilityCommunicationEstablish clear and consistent communication between BOH and FOHCollaborate with managers, servers, bussers, and expos to ensure smooth service
