Augie s is a high-energy neighborhood bar and restaurant in Lincoln Park focused on elevated comfort food, craft cocktails, and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere for both guests and staff. We are looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager / Chef to lead our back-of-house operations and grow with our team.This is not a corporate chef role. We are looking for someone who can lead a kitchen, build systems, coach a team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and strong food quality.What You ll DoManage daily kitchen operations and service executionLead, train, and motivate BOH staffMaintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standardsCreate and enforce prep, cleaning, and organizational systemsManage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationshipsMonitor food and labor cost goalsBuild schedules and manage staffing levelsMaintain sanitation and health department standardsAssist with menu development and seasonal featuresWork the line and expo during busy services as neededCollaborate closely with ownership and FOH managementWhat We re Looking ForPrevious Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef experienceStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to manage a fast-paced, high-volume kitchenExperience with inventory, ordering, and food cost controlReliable, organized, and solution-orientedTeam-first mentality with a positive attitudeAbility to stay calm under pressureWeekend and evening availability requiredCompensation & BenefitsStarting salary: $65,000+Performance-based bonus and incentive opportunitiesPaid time offStaff discountsFlexible scheduling when possibleCreative input on menu and kitchen operationsAbout Augie sAugie s is a neighborhood gathering place known for elevated pub food, craft cocktails, private events, and a strong community atmosphere.
