POSITION SUMMARY: Sho Omakase is hiring experienced individuals to join our team as one of our lead line cooks. In addition to a passion for cooking and a strong sense of hospitality and dependability, these individuals should possess a great eye for detail and will be heavily involved in pre-service preparations, plating/dish execution during service hours, and assisting our Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine as needed. As we are an omakase with all of our culinary team being guest facing at times, part of this position will include plating/serving at the omakase counter during service and interacting with our guests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Including, but not limited to the following:

  • Prepare ingredients and follow all prep sheets as delegated by our chef team
  • Adhere to food quality and safety regulations with a keen eye for allergens
  • Prepare all dishes in a timely manner by maintaining a properly stocked and clean workspace and meeting all prep time demands.
  • Maintain a clean workspace, including equipment, tables and shelves.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with both coworkers and guests.
  • Plate, finish, and prepare dishes during service at the omakase counter with our chef team
  • Engage with guests as needed during omakase service

Minimum Qualifications

  • Understanding of cooking methods, procedures and knife skills.
  • Ability to execute with accuracy, speed and attention to detail.
  • Works well with an intimate team in pursuit of a common goal
  • Ability to read and follow cooking directions.
  • Ability to maintain calm with flexibility in a stressful environment.
  • Must have proven cooking experience, including experience as a cook, chef or prep cook.
