For over 18 years, Brooklyns leading gourmet kosher supermarket has set the standard for premium kosher prepared foods in America featured in The New York Times, dubbed the kosher Whole Foods by the New York Post, and home to the largest selection of freshly prepared kosher foods in the country. 150+ scratch-made dishes daily, multiple on-site kitchens, the freshest and most premium ingredients anchored by premium in-house butchering and uncompromising attention to detail at every step.

Were hiring a Culinary Director to lead the entire prepared foods program deli, hot foods, and catering, spanning modern American, Italian, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisines and to bring it to the next level. This is the seat for an operator who wants to define the next chapter of premium kosher food retail: shape the vision, build the team, sharpen the brand, and grow the category. Direct communication with ownership, real budget, and the platform to make it happen.

What youll do
  • Set culinary vision and quality standards across all prepared foods categories and cuisines
  • Lead and develop department chefs
  • Own menu strategy, seasonal programming, and brand identity
  • Drive P&L: food cost, labor, margin, and category growth
  • Run the R&D pipeline; identify trends, launch new product lines, and expand the program
  • Work closely with the in-house butchering team on protein program direction
  • Work with ownership on long-term strategy, holidays, and major store events

  • 10+ years progressive culinary leadership with multi-department scope
  • Track record managing multi-million-dollar prepared foods or food retail P&L
  • Multi-cuisine fluency at a high level (Italian, Mediterranean, Asian, American)
  • Uncompromising attention to detail at every step of production
  • Vision-driven operator who still tastes, plates, and develops alongside the team
  • Strong culture leader and team builder
  • Kashrut training and full mashgiach team support provided no prior kosher experience required
Compensation

$165,000 $200,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus discretionary performance bonus, benefits, and PTO.
