Position: Baker / Pastry Chef Location: Famous 4th Street Delicatessen, Philadelphia, PA
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare a variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cookies, and traditional Jewish specialties.
Follow and preserve time-tested recipes to ensure consistency and quality.
Oversee daily baking operations, from ingredient preparation to finishing touches.
Maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
Uphold health and safety standards in all baking areas.
Assist with training and mentoring of junior bakers and kitchen staff.
Collaborate with management on seasonal offerings and menu updates.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year professional baking experience.
Familiarity with traditional deli baked goods and baking techniques.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Attention to detail and a passion for quality.
Team-oriented with good communication skills.
