Baker Job Description
Please note, we are located in Forest Grove, 45mins outside Portland.
We re looking for an awesome person to join our production crew! Someone who can move between the different stations: mixing and shaping loaves of bread, laminating and shaping viennoiserie, mixing up cookies and scones, knocking out those early morning bake shifts to make sure everything is on the shelf fresh and beautiful by opening.
If this sounds like you, send us a resume! We love folks with experience in the industry, but we ve also trained total newbies and turned them into talented, confident bakers. Whatever the case, we want to get you know you better!
Responsibilities
Mixing, fermenting, dividing, and shaping bread, up to 160 loaves some days
Mixing, laminating, and shaping viennoiserie
Following recipes to make additional pastries
Following recipes and procedures to prep various ingredients for baking and service
Operating bread and pastry ovens and baking off all bread and pastry before open
Operating bakery equipment such as the mixer and pastry sheeter
Upholding product standard of quality and consistency
Being part of and contributing to a diverse team of awesome bakers!
Hours, Compensation and Benefits
30 hours/week to start, more available with experience.
Starting at $16.30-$18/hour + tips averaging $5-$6/hour = $21.30-$24/hour
Free bread, pastry, coffee, and meal perks
Paid sick leave and paid time off for staff working 35 hours regularly
Requirements
Flexible availability Tuesday-Sunday
Ability to lift 50lbs and work exclusively on your feet for extended periods of time
Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferences
Food service and baking experience preferred
Knowledge of and passion for long-fermentation and whole grain bread and baking
Management or leadership experience is always a plus
