Position Summary:
The K-12 Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals that meet USDA nutritional guidelines in a school kitchen environment. This role ensures food is safe, appetizing, and served efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and supporting overall kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals following USDA NSLP requirements and standardized recipes.
Set up and maintain an organized, clean workstation.
Ensure food safety practices including temperature control, handwashing, and proper glove use.
Serve food in a respectful and efficient manner to students and staff.
Maintain production records and assist with daily inventory and prep lists.
Follow all Taher, Inc. policies including HACCP protocols, safety standards, and attendance guidelines.
Qualifications:
Previous food service or cooking experience preferred (school or institutional setting a plus).
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to lift 30-50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent teamwork and customer service skills.
Willingness to complete assigned LMS modules (e.g., LMS_209, LMS_217, LMS_210).
