Position Summary: 2nd Cook - Part-time (OJSHS)

Hours Scheduled: 3.25 hours per day

Start Date: August 25, 2025

Rate of Pay (2025-2026 Salary Schedule): $16.65 STEP 1

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Essential duties of this position include the following tasks. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned at any time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Assist the Head Cook in Food Service Duties.
  • General food preparation, serving and clean-up functions.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines.
  • Work is performed within federal, state, and District specific processes and procedures.
  • The principal duties of this class are performed in a kitchen and cafeteria environment and include use of cooking and food preparation equipment that may involve exposure to high temperatures, sharp cutting surfaces, and related hazards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Food Handler's Card.
  3. Ability to work with students in group or individual situations.
  4. Ability to follow directions and carry out assigned tasks.
  5. Prior experience in working with school-age children preferred.
  6. Must be comfortable with and proficient at using technology (Word, Excel, Google Apps, Email

  • sitting for extended periods of time;

  • Intermittent bending, twisting, squatting kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, reaching.
  • Standing, walking, or running short distances throughout the day.

Salary and Terms of Employment:

The salary and terms of employment are established by Oakridge School District in agreement with conditions set forth in the contract with Oregon School Employees Association, Chapter 46 and School Board Policy.
