Porta Rossa is looking for a cook who thrives in a fast paced environment and who can elevate our patrons' culinary experience without losing the integrity of the product. Porta Rossa is a quickly growing Italian shop and serves fresh pasta dishes, sandwiches, and snacks during our lunch service. We also sell our fresh pasta by the pound, as well as a variety of sauces, ragus, various provisions, and so much more. We have created a very special destination here in Maplewood, serving high level cuisine at an affordable price.
Our ideal candidate is able to handle a busy lunch rush while being flexible and reliable. Our team members are trustworthy, professional, punctual, attentive, energetic, cheerful and courteous. WEEKENDS REQUIRED & MORNINGS
Responsibilities
- -Prepare sandwiches and cold dishes for lunch service in the shop and for to-go orders.
- -Keep the shop clean, presentable, and organized inside and outside; this includes taking out trash, and upholding all cleaning and sanitation standards- maintain a clean and organized dish area
- Adhere to a high standard of execution, efficiency, and teamwork with a sense of urgency
- Fulfill (and occasionally take) customer orders and requests
- Jump in to assist other team members as necessary
- Assist on prep projects throughout the week
- Attend scheduled shifts on time and in accordance with dress code and appearance guidelines
- Have a clear understanding of all the shops f&b items
- Contribute to an excellent experience for both employees and guests
Requirements
At least 2 years working in a fast paced, quick serve, food establishment
- Outgoing and friendly personality with strong emphasis on customer service.
- Team oriented attitude
- Knowledge/interest in Italian cuisine
- Sense of urgency and punctuality
- Flexible schedule: days, nights, weekends
- Basic food and kitchen safety knowledge
- Professional at all times
- Food Handlers Card is a plus!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 40 per week
