Gluten Free Gem, our independently owned and dedicated gluten free bakery is growing! We are an established mid-size wholesale bakery with a growing retail space looking to hire a full-time Afternoon and Evening Baker. This position is full time with three shifts a week from Noon-10pm, and one shift from Noon-6PM.
Gluten Free Gem produces traditional desserts, cakes, and quick breads that we re proud to say most people can't tell are gluten free. Our employees work closely as a team, and we're serious about our products and good food in general. We're excited to provide tasty allergen-friendly treats to the masses and we're looking for a knowledgeable and efficient person to bake and prepare our products.
As a woman owned and operated bakery we're proud to provide an inclusive and positive space for everyone. We're looking for someone who is open minded and supportive of our diverse team.
This is a full-time evening position, 32-40 hours a week. Shifts are 12pm-10pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and 12pm-6pm on Friday. We operate with consistent weekly schedules for all our employees.
Pay is $19-20/hr DOE + Tips ($3-5/hr). Health insurance, Aflac, and paid time off are available to full time employees after 90 days. We give regular performance reviews and raises and love showering our employees with birthday cake!
Bake Off Position Tasks:
Baking a variety of pastries and desserts (bars, muffins, cakes, donuts, etc).
Finishing, cutting, and preparing items for packaging or display in our retail shop.
Individually wrapping pastries, labeling them, and packing them for delivery.
Washing dishes and general end of day cleaning.
Position Requirements:
2 years of baking experience preferred. Gluten free baking experience is a plus, but not necessary.
A passion for baking and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain focus doing repetitive tasks.
Ability to work alone as well as with a team and get along with others.
Assume responsibility,municate clearly, maintain flexibility, and keep a positive attitude.
Reliable transportation.
The ability to lift 50 lbs and stand on your feet for long periods of time.
A current Oregon food handlers card.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID.
