Head Cook

Pleasant Hope R-VI School District is seeking applicants for a Head Cook within our Food Service Department.

POSITION: Head Cook

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: High school graduate
2. Experience: Appropriate experience for position preferred

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Food Service Director, Building Principal

Supervises: All food service personnel in their assigned building

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As determined by the school board and the signed contract.

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

The head cook is responsible for food service records, inventory, food preparation & supervising other food service employees in their building.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assumes responsibility for all food preparation activities in the cafeteria.

Leads food preparation from the menu provided by the food service director.

Maintains all records and reports required by local, state and federal agencies.

Cooperates with principals in conducting the food services program and its related activities.

Provides and maintains a high standard of sanitation and health conditions in the kitchen, and in the handling and preparations of food.

Maintains an inventory of equipment and food supplies.

Assigns cooks to the various duties.

Should be in sufficient health to perform the essential functions of the job.

Performs all other duties as assigned by food service director and administrator.
