Sous Chef Catering & Events Location: Slightly Toasted + The Landing | Chicago, IL

Toasted Hospitality is looking for a Sous Chef with a strong catering background to join our flagship location, Slightly Toasted a 100-seat restaurant in the Loopalong with our soon-to-open, 500-person event space, The Landing .

In this role, youll work side-by-side with our Executive Chef and prep team to guide and execute events both in the restaurant and in The Landing. Youll be part of a team that thrives on varietyfrom multi-day conferences with continental breakfasts, to seated corporate lunches, to lively whiskey dinners featuring one of Chicagos largest bourbon collections.

While Slightly Toasted itself is a relatively intimate space, our building houses multiple event and conference venues, meaning no two weeks look the same. One day you might be prepping for a 400-person networking reception, the next crafting a plated dinner for a high-end tasting event.

Schedule & Hours This is a MondayFriday position focused on prep and event execution. Expect three longer days (TuesThurs) and two shorter days (Mon & Fri), averaging around 40 hours per week.

About Toasted Hospitality Were a family-owned and operated restaurant group led by a leadership crew with over 200 restaurant openings under their belt. Based in Chicago, we currently operate six restaurants and two event spaces in the Loop:

  • Slightly Toasted award-winning bourbon and cocktail bar (opened 2017)

  • Little Toasted riverside restaurant with one of Chicagos largest patios

  • Asadito Taco scratch-made taqueria with an extensive agave selection

  • The Florian supper club on the third floor of the Lyric Opera

  • Eaves - southern european cocktail bar and bistro on the first floor of the Lyric Opera
  • Copper Club cocktail bar and bistro in the heart of the theater district

  • The Landing flexible West Loop conference & event space for up to 500 guests

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($50,000.00 - $60,000.00)
