The Sous Chef role is a vital part of the Bocage & Standard Fare team, contributing to the culinary team via excellent cooking & knife skills, training & supervising other cooks, maintaining a clean & safe work environment and completing all tasks assigned by the Executive Chef. This role represents the Bocage & Standard Fare brands and as such, be well groomed, detail oriented, friendly, respectful, and most importantly, passionate about fine food and beverage.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Expertise to proficiently work all stations in the kitchen.
Assist with training & supervision of line/prep cooks, as needed.
Participate in culinary management "lineups" to maintain cohesive leadership, potential opportunities to collaborate on menus & specials.
Produce prep items for the menu(s) while adhering to given recipes based on established par levels.
Consistently provide a mindset of positivity & support amongst the culinary team to maintain a positive, healthy culture / working environment.
Fill out and/or verify station mis en place sheets completed by cooks for inventory & prep purposes.
Maintain impeccable health department guideline SOPs of food spaces, following said guidelines and/or checklist provided by the Executive Chef.
Perform closing duties at the end of service, as well as, checklist(s) provided by the Executive Chef, (temperature logs, inventory, etc.).
Assists with cleaning & maintenance tasks as directed within allocated shift.
Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in an upscale kitchen setting with supervision/training of cooks
2+ years of experience with opening and/or closing a full-service kitchen facility
1+ years of experience with inventory, food preservation & waste management
Being a culinarian with a strong desire to provide exceptional food and service to guests, to learn and to grow both personally and professionally.
Strong skillsets: Attention to detail, organization, communication, reliability, respect & a positive mindset.
Strong understanding of flavor profiles, food ingredients, food allergens, sensitivities & contamination prevention.
Ability to stand for long periods of time & lift up to 50 lbs.
ServSafe Certification & Toast POS experience a PLUS.
