Responsibilities

  • Lead daily kitchen operations with consistency, accuracy, and a calm, professional demeanor.
  • Guide and support team members across all kitchen stations.
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, and product quality for the kitchen team.
  • Assist in the training and ongoing development of Chef de Parties and Commis Chefs.
  • Support the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Sous Chef with staff scheduling and kitchen logistics.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace during prep and service.
  • Execute dishes using both modern and classic techniques, with exacting attention to detail.
  • Follow and uphold Alinea’s culinary standards and recipes with precision.
  • Uphold a positive and inclusive kitchen culture through leadership and example.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Chef de Partie and/or 2+ years in a Sous Chef role
  • Deep commitment to hospitality and culinary excellence
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, chef-driven kitchen
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to take direction, shift priorities quickly, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a tight-knit team
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours per shift
  • Able to lift, move, or pull items up to 35 lbs and carry a full tray with one hand
  • Comfortable climbing stairs multiple times per shift
