Toast & Eggs Restaurant is hiring in Waitsfield! We have immediate openings for line cooks, prep cooks, and servers. Hourly pay for trained positions ranges $18-$26+ depending on experience. Tips are pooled with the entire staff and average $2/hour. We prefer long-term commitments, but are also accepting applicants to stay on board through foliage season until early November.
Line Cooks: We serve breakfast and lunch 8am-2pm daily. Weekday shifts include a mix of line and prep work, while weekends are a more consistent fast-paced line. Cooking our menu does not require many delicate techniques, but it does require attention to timing and a commitment to putting the best possible presentation on every plate. To set up for success, line cooks must arrive by 7am, so please morning people only apply.
Prep Cook / Baker: Almost everything we serve is made in-house with fresh ingredients. To provide a consistent experience for customers and coworkers, we are looking for a cook who can efficiently manage priorities, follow recipes and instructions precisely, and maintain a clean work station. The ideal candidate has experience with baking bread and trimming meat, but we are happy to train someone with the right attitude. Hours flexible, including early AM and PM.
Servers: Our front-of-house staff is responsible for ensuring customers feel right at home from the moment they walk in the door. This starts with a friendly greeting, then continues through taking orders and fielding questions from our order counter, serving drinks, running food, bussing tables, and organizing and restocking for the next customer. We have both daytime and evening shifts available, part-time through August with more hours opening up in September.
Toast & Eggs is located in downtown Waitsfield, 20 minutes from Waterbury and 15 minutes from Sugarbush Resort. Our reputation is rooted in our fresh-baked breads and our expansive menu that includes breakfast classics like buttermilk pancakes and corned beef hash alongside contemporary craft sandwiches and specialty vegetarian and gluten-free options. We offer casual service, with a cozy indoor dining room in cooler months and picturesque covered outdoor seating for warmer months. We are a place where local community members can connect over a cup of coffee and visitors from out of town can come enjoy a taste of Vermont country living.
